Which beater for frosting
I had no idea what this actually was until researching for this article. I just thought it was some random thing that came with it that I would never use. The KitchenAid flat beater is a multi-purpose attachment that is meant to be used for mixing heavier mixtures, like frostings and cake batter. This attachment is especially recommended for scratch-made cake mixes. The KitchenAid whisk attachment , like a traditional hand held whisk, is used to incorporate air into mixtures, such as eggs and whipped cream.
The biggest benefit to this is obviously NOT having to hand whisk your heavy cream or egg whites. This little spinning attachment does all the hard work for you. It works by kneading dough from the sides of the bowl. This is the same thing you could do by hand, but this saves you a ton of work and a little sanity.
Honestly, how much time do you spend trying to scrap the sides of your bowl during a mixing project? This KitchhenAid sifter and scale attachment allows you to add dry goods directly to the mix while measuring and sifting for you. Island Mount. Under Cabinet. Retractable Downdraft. Thank you in advance! Is this frosting good for piping? I am in need of fluffy frosting that will hold on my cake and not slump down. Hey Jen! Hope this helps! Jump to recipe. What ingredients do you need to make frosting? Butter: Uh duh. Softened butter will be the base of your buttercream frosting. We recommend using unsalted, that way you can control how salty your frosting is. The most important thing is to use room temperature butter.
This will ensure you get fluffy, perfect vanilla buttercream every time. Milk: We prefer to use whole milk for frosting to keep it creamy, dreamy and delicious.
You can always add a little more milk if you want a slightly thinner frosting or a little less for a thicker option. Just keep in mind that one tablespoon can have a big difference on your texture, so make sure to do it gradually. Step One: Bring your butter to room temperature. Step Two: Place the butter and powdered sugar in a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Step Three: Beat the butter and sugar together until just combined.
Step Four: Add the milk, vanilla extract, and salt.
